• Canon releases Digital Photo Professional. "Digital Photo Professional is our latest high-performance RAW processing application. Through its updated processing algorithms and completely new interface, Digital Photo Professional (DPP) significantly increases the level of critical image control available to today’s digital SLR professionals." Note that a valid serial number from an EOS-1D or EOS-1Ds camera is required to download DPP.
• Canon releases EOS Viewer Utility. The "EOS Viewer Utility (EVU) downloads JPEG and RAW files from EOS digital SLRs, can convert RAW images and allows the modification of camera settings. EVU will NOT convert RAW images from PowerShot cameras."

• According to RobGalbraith.com, Canon USA's Chuck Westfall has indicated to them that Canon wiill have a worldwide release of both their new Digital Photo Professional and EOS Viewer Utility software on 20th May 2004. Digital Photo Professional is a new browsing and RAW file processing software while the EOS Viewer Utility is positioned as a much-improved follow-on to the older File Viewer Utility.
