- Canon releases firmware v1.2.3 update for EOS 1D MkIII and firmware v1.1.2 update for EOS 1Ds MkIII. Rob Galbraith also posts news on Canon's firmware updates for both the EOS 1D MkIII and EOS 1Ds MkIII. with some images to show the updates. Of most interest to me would be the ability to use the multi-controller to select any desired AF points. This has been a big point of contention and debate for many photographers who have been wondering why on earth was it not enabled.

After returning from Canon Service Centre (Singapore) with a clean bill of health, my EOS 1Ds has now been sold to a gentleman whom I believe will thoroughly appreciate the images that it can produce. Thanks for being my first DSLR and your past 4 years & 5 months of faithful service, you'll be sorely missed.

- Well.. my EOS 1Ds is now up for sale and I know I will dearly miss the camera when it eventually gets sold. It has given me many fond memories as well as some of my best photos (which incidentally were never uploaded to this site) in the past 4 years & 5 months. I wish I could keep it but it just doesn't make good economic sense to do so.

- Today is another milestone in my photography pursuit... after skipping the previous camera update (EOS 1Ds MkII) and an extremely long wait for stocks availablity, I have finally bought the latest EOS 1Ds MkIII (thanks for the help Canon Singapore!!). I also took this opportunity to get the Speedlite 580EX II which is reportedly significantly better than its predecessor. Which leads me to wonder if I should sell the Speedlite 580EX (i.e. the Mark I) or keep it for wireless flash photography which I have always wanted to do more of but never got much chance.
